Welcome to Life & Health Coaching

Hi there, I’m Meg Cleary, I specialise in working with professionals who are juggling work and life to help you create a healthier mix in your life. I’m here to help you prioritise what’s important to you, and find simple ways to make big impacts in your energy, motivation and enjoyment of life.

What is coaching and how can it help you and/or your team

Coaching is a collaborative partnership. You bring your life expertise,  I bring coaching skills, life experience and a ton of curiosity. Together, we create your personalised plan and move you toward whatever it is you want to achieve, change or start.

    • We start by looking at where you are now. How you fill your days, all your responsibilities, what you love and don’t love about your life.
    • Then we look at where you want to be. How you want your days, weeks, months to look and how you want to feel.
    • We take a helicopter view of your relationships, health, aspirations, achievements, direction, fun, satisfaction levels. We look at everything that is getting in the way. All the obstacles that are preventing you from living with more ease and satisfaction.
    • We make a plan to eliminate the obstacles, we find a way around them or we decide they aren’t an issue after all.

    Who is Meg Cleary?

    Some parts of being healthy came naturally to me. I was that weird kid who came home from school and was happy to chow down on raw cauliflower and broccoli. I remember in my late 20’s, after one too many carrot juices, my skin turning a soft hue of orange. I’m drawn to healthy food.

    I’ve been active most of my life and equally inactive for parts of it. I’ve fallen off track, tried fads, was always curious about people and personal development, partied hard and attended health retreats.

    I’m continually curious about people and naturally see their strengths.  I love that we humans are a mixture of good and bad, happy and sad, kind and cruel, saint and sinner and of course healthy and unhealthy. Life and Health Coaching brings all this together.

    My great joy is helping you to finally drop the pressure to do it all perfectly. To find simple ways to maintain and improve your overall wellbeing so you can feel satisfied at the end of the work day, have energy to create memories with your kids/grandkids, keep learning, prepare for and revel in retirement and keep your independence and Joie de vivre for years to come.

    Along with my life experience, my education aligns with my value of being a life long learner. I have a Masters in Health Science; Bachelor of Applied Science; Certifications in both Life and Health Coaching.

    I’m not here to tell you what to do

    Life coaching is a collaborative process that empowers individuals to achieve their goals, overcome challenges, and improve their overall well-being through supportive and constructive conversations.

    It can be applied to various areas of life, including career, health, relationships, spirituality, and personal growth.

    What makes life coaching unique is its holistic approach, recognising that every dimension of life is interconnected, a change in one area will have a knock on effect to other areas of your life.

    At its core, life coaching holds the belief that by learning to lead ourselves, we also cultivate the ability to lead and inspire others in a more authentic and impactful way.

    What to expect:

    • Improved innovation, more mental space to think outside your current norms;
    • A boost to your resilience and resourcefulness;
    • Increased awareness and reminder of what’s in your control;
    • Regular time to look at the big picture and gain perspective;
    • Increased compassion for yourself;
    • Energy, courage and motivation will be enhanced.

    This journey is challenging and exciting. You’re creating a way of living that gives you more ease. When you have more ease you have space to consider “what else might I be capable of?” and “what creative ways can I use to solve this problem?”

    You could absolutely do this on your own

    Check in with yourself:

    Would you or your team members make the time to sit down and really look at all areas of your life?

    Would you do this through a lens of self compassion?

    Would you take the time to build a solid foundation, so that your strengths, values and wellbeing are foremost in your decision making?

    Would you encourage yourself to keep going and find ways to make it as easy as possible?

    If there’s more chance that you’ll continue to find your head just above water and keep reminding yourself what you SHOULD be doing – then using a life & health coach would benefit you.

    What to expect

    Life Coaching

    • Increased Self-Awareness: Through coaching, you gain a clearer understanding of your strengths, values, and what truly drives you. This awareness enables you to make choices that align with who you are and what you want from life.
    • Increased Confidence: Life coaching helps you recognize and build on your successes, reframe limiting beliefs, and take bold steps. This process fosters confidence that empowers you in all areas of life.
    • Personal Growth: Coaching creates a space for you to expand, challenge yourself, and embrace new perspectives. You become more adaptable and open to change, which is key to personal growth.
    • Goal Achievement: With a structured plan and ongoing support, you can set, pursue, and achieve meaningful goals that align with your life vision.
    • More Ease in Life: As you work through obstacles, develop new skills, and align your life with your values, life becomes more manageable. You experience greater ease and satisfaction in both daily routines and long-term plans.

    Each of these results builds on the others, creating a powerful foundation for a fulfilled and purpose-driven life.

    Let’s look at the research

    Coaching offers a highly personalised approach to improving well-being, tailored to each individual’s unique lifestyle, preferences, and needs. Acting as a comprehensive tool, coaching supports well-being directly during sessions while also guiding clients toward beneficial practices between sessions—like improving sleep routines, defining your personal success, and having accountability.

    One of coaching’s greatest strengths is its adaptability. Coaching is designed to meet clients exactly where they are and empower them on their personal journey.

    As research on coaching’s impact on mental well-being grows, we’re gaining insights into how coaching works and  typical timeline for progress.

    After three months of coaching, individuals improve their stress management skills and experience stronger relationships and social connections. By six months, resilience grows, and a clearer sense of life purpose emerges. Beyond six months, the cumulative effects of coaching lead to significant gains in overall life satisfaction.

    A few experiences and updates from past and current clients

    “Thank you so much Meg, your way of phrasing things has helped me to keep going. My biggest take away from working with you is it’s ok to find my own way, its ok not to be so disciplined. I now know this way of thinking kept me from starting on any of my ideas, being a perfectionist is hard work LOL.

    I don’t have to be perfect and I can still progress. I used to think I would have to do so much to change some of my behaviours, thanks for introducing me to a new way of doing and thinking about what I want.

    This has been life altering, thank you.”

    ‘I thought the coaching was amazing. I’ve never done anything like this before. I was nervous to start, but Meg had me at ease from the start.

    What helped the most was saying things out loud that I’ve never said before. The experience was way more beneficial than I thought it would be. Its great to reflect back on how far I’ve come and my confidence to keep my needs front and centre is now 10/10.”

    ‘Coaching with Meg has been one of the best things I’ve done. It’s not pushy, the insights are so logical, its been so helpful to get some clarity and take some action.

    The best thing is I’ve dropped the pressure on myself, this has allowed me to relax and start to enjoy the direction I’m going in. Thanks so much Meg!”

    ….I just realised that it’s been over 5 years since we had coaching!! I still hear you in my head, I’m still using all the tools I learned from you, it helped me to put my hand up for a role that was way above my pay grade eeek. I reckon I’m in with a chance, if they don’t see it it’s their loss! I’m still looking forward, life is currently AOK…..

    “Meg has been a sustaining partner throughout our sessions. She nudges at perspective and nurtures transference (or the Aha! moments) with focus. Meg asks perfect questions which have helped me to stop, reflect and move through. It’s a safe and respectful space; it can be fun and it can be thought provoking. Our appointments are structured but also relaxed. I’m free to see the big picture and enlightened to see the small stuff. A Great experience.”

    Rosanne B

    Centre Manager, headspace

    “After every session with Meg I noticed a shift in my thinking. Self-imposed boundaries were reframed. The confusion around the feelings I have has started to clear and I’m noticing things that light a flame in me.

    Identifying “what I want” and “what I value”, along with the reflective conversations we have, is helping me to navigate a pathway to what brings me joy.

    I’ve been able to be honest and vulnerable. I can trust Meg completely. Meg helps untangle my many conflicting thoughts and needs and creates clarity and the building blocks for the life I want.

     The process is gentle, but challenging, and focused on tangible outcomes for each session. My shift in thinking each week is subtle but provides a positive step forward each time.

     The key thing for me is the sessions have created dedicated time and mental space to focus completely on what’s important to me. “

    “The coaching has been very positive, it’s so helpful to talk to someone, this has helped me reflect on what I’m doing and not doing. I’m much more mindful.

    I’ve learnt so much about myself, what motivates me and how to keep going with my plans. I’ve dropped the all or nothing approach.

    Learning to observe myself and drop the negative self talk has been the most beneficial. Thanks Meg for helping me to get going on my now new exciting chapter.”
